HEYTEA Jasmine Milk Tea
My control drink. Nothing is hidden behind fruit, foam or syrup, which makes it the fastest way I know to judge how good a bubble tea shop actually is.

About the Jasmine Milk Tea
Jasmine Milk Tea costs $7.99 and lists 220 calories. Jasmine green tea and milk, and that is the entire build. No pulp, no foam cap, no brown sugar streaks. It is the cheapest of the signature milk teas, and it is what I order first at a shop I have not been to, because there is nothing in the cup to cover a bad base.
Jasmine tea is green tea scented with jasmine blossom, traditionally by layering the flowers with the leaf overnight and repeating that across several nights. Done well, the floral note reads as part of the tea rather than perfume sitting on top of it. Done badly it tastes like soap. That gap is enormous, and in a plain milk build like this you will notice it immediately.
What you get is soft and rounded with a light floral lift on the finish. There is far less body here than in Black Milk Tea, which sits on a stronger black leaf, and far less roast than Cloud Longjing Milk Tea. What it has instead is clarity. On a hot afternoon this goes down easily in a way a heavier build does not, and it is the one milk tea here that does not feel like a commitment.
At $7.99 it is also the value pick of the milk tea section. The cloud and matcha builds sit around two dollars higher, and this cup gives you most of what people actually want from a milk tea without them. Brown sugar bobo brings it to $7.99 plus the topping and turns it into something much closer to a classic boba shop order, which is how I usually build it.
Order this as your first drink at any HEYTEA, as an everyday cup, or when somebody else is paying and you do not want to pick something complicated. Skip it if you want the tea to be the loud part. Jasmine is a gentle leaf and milk softens it further. If you are chasing intensity, look at the matcha builds or the roasted Longjing side of the board instead.
For the same tea without milk, Cloud Jasmine Tea pours jasmine straight with a salted cheese cap at $6.99, and that is a very different and much drier drink. HEYTEA also serves this hot at $7.49, below the iced price, which is one of the quiet bargains on this board.
Jasmine Milk Tea sizes and prices
The Jasmine Milk Tea comes in one cup size only, at $7.99 for 220 calories, so there is no upgrade to weigh up. That price makes it the 4th dearest of the 7 drinks in the Milk Tea Collection section.
| Size | Price | Calories | Cal per dollar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular cup | $7.99 | 220 | 28 |
Listed US menu price before tax. The Jasmine Milk Tea is one of 7 drinks in the Milk Tea Collection section and city to city variation applies to all of them, cross checked across public US menu listings on 24 August 2026.
Best toppings for the Jasmine Milk Tea
The Jasmine Milk Tea starts at $7.99 and every topping is charged on top of that. Brown Sugar Bobo is the cheapest of the three at $1.58, and all three together would take the Jasmine Milk Tea to $14.03 and 510 calories.
| Topping | Add on | Cal | Cup total | Why it works here |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brown Sugar Bobo | +$1.58 | +100 | $9.57 320 cal | The default upgrade. Turns a plain milk tea into a standard boba order and adds the chew the cup is otherwise missing. |
| Coconut Milk Jelly | +$1.58 | +70 | $9.57 290 cal | Lighter than tapioca at 70 calories, and the coconut sits well against jasmine without fighting the floral note. |
| Cheese Cloud | +$2.88 | +120 | $10.87 340 cal | Adds the salted foam cap for {PRICE:cheese-cloud}, which rebuilds the drink into something close to the Cloud milk teas for less than they cost. |
These three suit the Jasmine Milk Tea in particular, and the remaining 4 options sit in the full toppings table with what each one does to a mid board cup.
How to make a Jasmine Milk Tea at home
If you learn one recipe from this site, make it this one, because everything else on the milk tea side is a variation of it. The only real skill is not over brewing. Jasmine turns astringent fast and you have nothing in this drink to hide it behind. In store it is $7.99.

Method
All steps done. Your Jasmine Milk Tea is ready to pour.
Tips that actually change the result
- Buy jasmine tea as loose leaf if you can. Bagged jasmine is usually dust and it brews harsh at the strength this drink needs.
- Whole milk gives the closest result. Skimmed milk leaves the cup thin and the tea starts to taste sharp.
- Brew a double batch of the tea base and keep it in the fridge for three days. The drink then takes under a minute to build.
Ways to change it
- Cook 1/2 cup tapioca pearls in brown sugar syrup and add them for the boba version.
- Blend 60g cream cheese with 40ml cream and a little salt, then layer it over for the Cloud build.
- Swap the jasmine for a pan fired Longjing to make the roasted version instead.
How the Jasmine Milk Tea compares
Three plain tea and milk builds at the same price, plus the capped jasmine version. The leaf is the only real variable, and I use these to judge a new shop.

Jasmine Milk Tea questions
How much is HEYTEA Jasmine Milk Tea?
The regular cup is $7.99, which makes it one of the cheaper signature drinks on the US board. The hot version is listed at $7.49, slightly below the iced price.
How many calories are in a Jasmine Milk Tea?
It lists 220 calories for the regular cup at standard sweetness. Brown sugar bobo puts another 100 on top, and a lower sugar level brings the real figure down.
Does Jasmine Milk Tea have caffeine?
Yes. Jasmine tea is a green tea scented with jasmine blossom, so the cup carries the caffeine of a brewed green tea. HEYTEA does not publish milligram figures per drink in the US, so we do not quote one.
Is Jasmine Milk Tea sweet?
It is moderately sweet at the standard level and it can be adjusted down when you order. The drink has no fruit syrup or brown sugar in it, so it reads much lighter than Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea or the cloud capped builds.
What is the difference between Jasmine Milk Tea and Cloud Jasmine Tea?
This drink is jasmine tea with milk. Cloud Jasmine Tea at $6.99 is jasmine tea with a salted cheese foam cap and no milk underneath, so it tastes far drier and more tea forward.
